Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park - Half or Full Day Adventure

If mountain biking is your medicine, then be prepared for an overdose!  If you’re travelling around Tropical North Queensland without your noble steed - AKA mountain bike or could only afford carryon luggage but still want to ride the best trails the north has to offer, we have the solution for you!

Meet your TAG guide at 9am/1pm at the Atherton Mountain Bike Skills Park, a short walk from the centre of Atherton township.  For this mountain biking experience, our focus is on riding the network of purpose-built, single-track mountain bike trails of Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park.  Atherton is home to some of the newest and sweetest trails, from family friendly green (easy) to adrenaline-fuelled blue (intermediate).

Today’s group ride will be tailored to your needs including length and difficulty.  We start with a discussion around your previous mountain biking experience.  Your guide will get you comfortable on your bike and run through a few mountain bike specifics.  If you’d like to brush up on your mountain biking skills or gain more confidence by trying out a few new ones, then your guide will demonstrate and give you time to do some basic skill practice at the skills park.  Before setting off, your guide will discuss personal and group safety and our route.  Ride up to 30km of the extensive network of trails for an unforgettable experience.  Trails meander through an open forest of gums, bloodwoods, mahoganys, she-oaks, grasstrees and cycads.

Our riding time is a minimum of 2 hours, however allow up to 3 hours for the whole experience.  We recommend you wear sturdy runners, quick-dry shirt and pants or padded shorts and a hydration pack if you have one (however water bottles are provided).  If you are used to cleats, but do not have your shoes - TAG has a limited selection of SPD-specific MTB shoes and pedals for hire.  Your guide will be carrying a First Aid kit and bike spares.

 Extended day mountain bike ride includes delicious nourishing healthy lunch.


To extend your day we can provide a picnic lunch and we will hit up the trails for another session in the afternoon.

Add $55/cyclist for a picnic lunch and to extend your riding time by 2 hours
Add $5 for SPD MTB shoe hire.

Note: TAG donates 10% of the profits of every MTB guided tour to trail maintenance.
